My Wedding Gown This is the picture from the pattern envelope. My wedding gown and veil cost about $100 - maybe a little over, but not much. I bought a Vogue pattern, fabric, and notions, and my mother-in-law made the dress. The bodice was sleeveless, of solid white satin with sheer insets in the upper back and chest. The skirt was full, with about 6 layers of tulle with a top layer of sheer white fabric with a design printed on it. There's a picture here of the overlay fabric - it has opaque white flowers and silver flowers on it. (The fabric was glued to a dark piece of paper before I scanned it; that's where the odd color came from.) The Skirt Overlay Fabric We didn't make the dress with a train. The veil was a sheer white chiffon, about a foot longer than I am tall, with silver trim all the way around it. We used a little over two yards of fabric, and rounded the corners (using my mother-in-law's round kitchen table!). She then hemmed it all the way around and tacked the trim on, then gathered the top and sewed it onto a couple of clear white combs. This is the sketch from the pattern of the sleeveless bodice we used.
